Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Reno Jazz Festival. You'll be taking part is what is considered one of biggest jazz events in the world. RJF hosts the legendary jazz innovators of today and of tomorrow as well as educators and other professional musicians across the country. The Festival has grown considerably in size since its debut in 1962. We estimate over 350 school groups, 9,000 participants, 50 clinicians, guest performers, and adjudicators will be in attendance this year, and with three days of concerts, clinics, and competitions we could use some help.
Lending a hand for a half day gets you a free ticket to that night's show and a Reno Jazz Festival T-shirt. If you can help us out the whole day, we'll throw in lunch and snacks. All we ask is that you attend one of our mandatory volunteer orientations held Sunday April 21st @ noon in the Joe Crowley Student Union room 423 and Tuesday April 23rd @ 7:00 p.m. also in the Joe Crowley Student Union but in room 356. The orientations are just to make sure we're all on the same page.

Announcer/Timer Keep the room on time according to the schedule, get the groups adjudication forms to the judges, serve as the announcer for the room (unless the director would like to do this him/herself). In addition, along with the stage monitor (if there is one), please help the adjudicators whenever possible by asking if they need anything, etc. Stage Guide Lead groups from their warm-up room, to the performance venue, and then to the feedback room.
