The School of the Arts plays a vital role in the cultural and artistic life of the campus and community.
The school comprises three degree-granting departments of art, music, and theatre and dance, and several attendant programs, including the Argenta Concert Series, Black Rock Press, Lake Tahoe Music Camp, Nevada Chamber Opera, Nevada Repertory Company, Performing Arts Series, Reno Jazz Festival and Sheppard Contemporary. Our 600 undergraduate and graduate students, pursuing both majors and minors, have the good fortune to learn from and interact with distinguished faculty who are not only all experts in their fields, but also some of the most creative, imaginative and inspiring artists around.
