The 2nd Annual American Indian/Alaska Native Youth Summit will be held at the University of Nevada, Reno.  The two-day conference for youth, 8th grade through 12th grade, will include workshops and activities focused on building leadership skills, academic skills, self-empowerment, civic engagement, and strengthening traditional knowledge.  College Student Leaders will also have the opportunity to collaborate with education professionals during the two-day conference.  College Students Leaders will act as ambassadors and lead a group of 10-15 students for the two days.  College Student Leaders will be provided with a pre-service orientation.  We will also hold a 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament and a Talent Show in conjunction with the Summit.

Requirement Details
College Student Leaders should be prepared to work with and lead a group of 10-15 8th grade through 12th grade students. College Student Leaders will be asked to perform team building activities with their youth group and discuss learning outcomes after the workshops. College Student Leaders will be working with students from diverse backgrounds. College Student Leaders should have good communication skills and be available to volunteer both days of the conference. College Student Leaders will also have additional tasks as assigned throughout the two-day conference which may include: 1. Sitting on a student panel; 2. Hosting college campus tours with their group; and 3. Registration and check-in.

College Student Leaders will earn service learning experience to add to their resume, have the ability and opportunity to network with education and administrative professionals, gain leadership and communication skills, and learn about American Indian/Alaskan Native culture in and around Nevada.
Parking Details
Parking will be available in the Bryan Whalen and West Stadium parking garages. Parking permits will need to be approved through the event coordinator if a College Student Leader does not have an existing parking permit.
