This was overall an amazing experience. It was very fast and easy to sign up to be a volunteer, and it felt great to do so. I worked with many different people, both volunteers and people participating in the walk. Myself and a few other members of the Nevada Neuro Society arrived at the Sparks Marina at 7am. We proceeded to set up refreshments for the participants of the Walk to End Alzheimer's. We unloaded boxes of foods and drinks and set them up on tables. We assisted others and maintained the refreshments and proceeded to take part in the walk itself. While it was only a few hours, the walk was very powerful and eye-opening for me. First of all it feels good to give back to the community, even if it is in a small way. It also feels good simply giving time to such an important cause. I had no idea how many people in the Reno area were affected by Alzheimer's. It is great to see how supportive the community is and it was a fantastic event to be a part of. I would highly recommend this event to others.
