Although we just walked around, I really enjoy watching high school students register to vote because of voting importance especially to raise awareness to be represented in the political sphere.
This event was extremely inspiring to everyone to gain more knowledge about our own society. There are so many people who helped with the Civil Rights Movement, but only few are acknowledged. It is important to learn about all of the people who contributed to cause. I had an amazing time learning about other people who made a contribution and meeting new people along the way. The only thing that was a problem was the host and hostesses practice and how chaotic it was. I feel like having four leaders is unnecessary because you would only need the two at the door. The side closest to where people would walk in will have more people even if it says general admission. The general side ended up with more people than corporate side. Next year, we should have two leader per door. I would say that it was fun being a hostess because you get to help people who need the help and it makes the event feel special to everyone. Overall, the experience was amazing. I learned a lot throughout the night that I would not have the same chance in a classroom.
I truly loved presenting and encouraging people in my age group to vote. I really didn't know much about government until high school and I truly enjoyed this event and would volunteer for other schools! I could easily do the presentation, although I do wish I had more time to rehearse, I still did pretty well.
