Worked at the fundraising table for the Spirit of the Season concert. What a fun show!
I worked at a fundraising table to raise money for the Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestra's trip to Disney Music Hall.
I tabled for the Captivating Characters concert at the Pioneer Center. The Reno Philharmonic was playing with a guest violoinist, and th music was beautiful!
Very fun and worthwhile! I hope our decorated pumpkins put a smile on a child's face this Halloween.
A great way to raise awareness about CASA! Barnes and Noble is amazing for supporting this event every year and donating a portion of the proceedings at checkout to our local CASA.
I volunteered backstage for the spring 2018 showcase for the Reno Youth Orchestra. It was a lot of fun getting to know some of the kids and hear them play!
I volunteered at the Italian Festival at the Pioneer Center. I helped children create crafts, gave directions, and moved/handed out pasta after the concert. I got to listen to the concert put on by the Reno Philharmonic while I volunteered, and it was amazing! There was a guest conductor and violinist from Italy, who I had the opportunity to meet at the end of the Festival.
I volunteered at Renown Nursing Home with the Nevada Glee Club. We put on a performance for the residents. It's not very often that the residents get to interact with people outside the nursing home, especially people in the younger generations. They really enjoyed our visit, and enjoyed the music we sang for them even more. They were so grateful to have the opportunity to hear live music again! Their faces light up and they have the biggest grins on their faces when we sing a song they know. I would do it again in a heartbeat!
I volunteered at Santaland, where I helped elementary school kids pick out presents for themselves, friends, and family members. The youngest were in Kindergarten, and the oldest in probably 4th or 5th grade. This event is so much fun, especially if you're good with kids! Some of the kids are really shy, so you have to break them out of their shells a bit, while others are very bright, and will chat your ear off. There wasn't a single child I didn't enjoy helping out!
I tabled for the Booktober event at Barnes and Noble. It was great to be able to tell people about CASA and its importance to the community. All people had to do was mention CASA at checkout, and part of the proceedings from the books they bought went to the organization. The job was fairly simple, and only required talking to people and providing information. The lady I tabled with was wonderful and so knowledgeable! I would do this again.
