About
Mission:
Located at UNR, the mission of the Sanford Center for Aging is to enhance the quality of life and well-being among elders through education, translational research, and community outreach.
Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities:
Volunteer Mobility: Help home bound older adults get around! Our Volunteer Mobility programs provides transportation to home-bound older adults who don't have access to a car. As a volunteer driver you would be providing transportation for a variety of appointments including: medical, grocery shopping, community events and more. You would receive mileage reimbursement and there is no time commitment!
Art Partners: Build inter-generational friendships through the humanities! Art Partners pairs community members with an Art Partner from a different generation for monthly art events at University Galleries. This program is great for those who are interested in working with older adults professionally and the program's primary goal is to reduce isolation and build friendships with older adults. The Sanford Center asks for a year commitment from our volunteers as we hope for long term relationship building.
