Tiny Betas Science Fair

Thursday, January 31st, 2019 from 8:00am to 2:30pm

TriBeta Biological Honor Society is hosting the 3rd Annual Tiny Betas Science Fair, and with ASUN's partnership, projects will be showcased by clubs/organizations under the Science and Engineering coalition, the Graduate Chemistry Student Association, Nevada Department of Agriculture, the Natural History Museum, Fleischmann Planetarium, etc. Over 400 Washoe County 2nd graders will be joining us in the Joe Crowley 4th Floor Ballrooms for a day full of service learning, hands-on science experiments, a model planetarium, and more! Volunteers will be needed for set up, during the duration of the event, and clean-up. Free food will be provided to volunteers! Individuals volunteering during the event will be given instructions on various projects including making slime, testing properties of rocks, static electricity, life cycles of animals, etc. We hope to introduce the university's campus to students at a young age to inspire them to pursue careers in STEM.
