Student Life Service Day

Monday, August 21st, 2017 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm

About

Please dress appropriately for volunteering! All volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes. Most of these opportunities will be in warehouse-type environments (the park cleanup is outdoors), so please wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty, but remember you're representing the university so dress appropriately. If possible, wear Nevada gear!

Water and snacks will be provided. If you're working outdoors, consider sunscreen and/or a hat. We look forward to seeing you!

Context of the Event
Join student leaders representing departments all over campus in the Student Life Services unit to volunteer at various sites in our local community. This is a great way to kick off the year by volunteering a couple hours of your time, while also learning more about an organization in your community where you can get involved in the upcoming year and meeting other student leaders.

Transportation from campus to the volunteer site and back will be provided. Following the volunteering component, we will return to campus to debrief and hear from Shannon Ellis, Vice President for Student Services, and Jerry Marczynski, Associate Vice President for Student Life Services.

1:00 - Arrive at Joe Crowley Student Union and get in groups by assigned volunteer location
1:15 - Transportation to volunteer locations
1:30 - Volunteering at locations
3:30 - Transportation back to campus
4:00 - Meet on campus to debrief and hear from guest speakers
