About

March 31 is the birthday of Cesar Chavez, a 20th-century American labor leader and civil rights activist. In honor of Chavez, who engaged in the community by advocating for the rights of thousands of farm workers throughout the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. The Center for Student Engagement and Desert Farming Initiative has set up a Day of Service where we will look to make a positive impact on our own community.

We will be helping DFI and the UNR Garden Club with spring farm tasks!

Please wear closed-toed shoes and be prepared for the weather.
Don't forget your water, sunscreen, and your hat!

Please park along Valley Road and meet at the gate on the South side of the Agricultural Education Building (920 Valley Road). DFI staff will walk us in from the gate.
