Folk-Grass Trio, Steel Betty at the Performing Arts Series March 12, 2020 Doors at 7:00pm, Show 7:30 to 9:00pm This authentic and refreshingly earnest Austin, Texas band proves Austin is still the heart and soul of the American music Scene. Their shows honor the original musical pioneers of bluegrass, folk, country, and conjunto music. Hearkening back to earlier days, band members lean in to share vocals on a prominent Edwina stand microphone while playing upright bass, guitar, mandolin, and banjo. Their achingly gorgeous Spanish cover of Natalia Lafourcade's "Soledad Y Mar" and shared harmonies on the Appalachian folk tune "Red Rocking Chair" highlight their distinctly American sound.
