On March 28, from 9am to 11am Nevada Dining, in cooperation with The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Cheerios, will participate in the One Million Acts of Good movement, creating healthy food boxes to support students in need.
A partnership between Cheerios and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, One Million Acts of Good is a national movement aimed at inspiring kind acts and encouraging good deeds. As one of only 100 universities selected in the nation, University of Nevada, Reno will be participating in the campaign and taking another step at eliminating campus hunger.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to come by the Downunder Café and show support as students build 200 MATTERboxes that will be donated to UNR students struggling with food insecurity.
The MATTERboxes will be packed with healthy snacks including Cheerios Singlepak boxes, Peanut Free WOWBUTTER packets, and bottled waters as well as nutrition education materials and YOU MATTER Notes.
To participate, the campus community is invited to come to the Downunder Café between 9am and 11am to help pack the MATTERboxes, cheer on the teams creating the boxes and share their enthusiasm on social media using #OneMillionActsOfGood and #NevadaDiningDoesGood. UNR’s participation may appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Ellen’s social media or in an Ellen web video!
